Roy lives in the lovely village of Pretoro which is inside the National Park of the Maiella, Abruzzo.He and his wife Christine moved there from England over 3 years ago and they also run a successful Bed and Breakfast. click here for details
Roy started in the building trade soon after leaving school 47 years ago, initially working on new houses.He completed his own bungalow by the time he was 20 working nights and weekends.He soon got bored with the repetition of new builds and went on to the restoration of old buildings working on the restoration and reproduction of windows and doors for The National Trust and Grand Estates such as Holkham Hall in Norfolk. He has now transported his joinery workshop to Abruzzo restoring old windows,shutters and doors and making new ones. His skills cover most of the building trade and will take on most types of jobs,ie glazing tiling, stone work and small site repairs. He also strips doors and windows and has a large stock of old traditional doors, windows and furniture. He also makes beautiful hand-made kitchens.
